Do I need a dedicated server to run TracTime?
No, any PC on your network can be a used as a TracTime "server".
What mobile devices are supported?
TracTime supports most Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC devices and Windows Mobile 6 Professional devices. Please contact a TracTime representative if you have questions regarding a specific device.
What version of SQL do I need to run ReportBuilder or ChartBuilder?
SQL Express 2005 may be used to run both programs. It is available as a free download. Click to go to the downloads page.
Will TracTime integrate with my accounting, warranty and optioning software?
Yes, TracTime will integrate with JD edwards, Timberline and IBSWIN.
What is Live Meeting?
Live Meeting is a web based application that allows user to share control of their computer. TracTime commonly uses Live Meeting in the installation and configuration of software. Live Meeting is also used to aide in the training of new users. In the event of a problem Live Meeting may be used by TracTime to correct the issue. Click to go to the Support page.
How quickly can I expect to learn TracTime fundamentals?
In just 3 hours the TracTime administrator will have mastered the basic functionality required to create schedules and run reports.
Can we create and customize our own schedules?
Yes. In TracTime we develop a construction template library, which allows you to continue to add, create and customize as your company requires.
Does the field take 3 hours to learn TracTime as well?
No. Their learning curve is shorter and their classes are from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Does TracTime provide construction templates to help us create our own?
Yes. We have a wide range of construction templates from small to large homes, front end processing to offsites and even pools and tennis courts and more.
Does TracTime require a full time administrator?
No. We take pride in our user friendly construction software. As the administrator continues to learn quick tips & tricks, less and less time is required. Depending on the number of homes being built we see 1-4 hours a week.
Is training done on-site?
You can be trained either at your office or via a web meeting. With today’s technology we find more and more companies are enjoying web meetings to complete their training and support.

Why are my Tag Queries not displaying the correct information?
Verify that the DFR contains the proper notations for the Tag Query you are running. All "M", "I", "O", "B", and "Q" items are properly marked as well as any real-world query words are listed.
When do I need to use my start date tool?
Use it to update changes such as adjusting the rate per day, shortening or lengthening the logic.
How do I revise a scheduled date?
Solution 1: Right click on the scheduled date. A context menu will appear. Select Phase Editor or Lot Editor. Phase Editor affects every lot, whereas Lot Editor is lot specific. Now enter the revision information and click OK.
Solution 2: Click on the scheduled date. On the tool bar click the DFR Revision Editor icon. Select Phase Editor or Lot Editor. Phase Editor affects every lot, whereas Lot Editor is lot specific. Now enter the revision iformation and click OK.
I shortened my schedule and still have Scheduled dates at the bottom of my DFR, past my logic that I can not delete. What should I do?
Run the start date tool.
I have more activities than my DFR will hold. How do I add lines to the bottom of my DFR?
At the bottom of the DFR place your cursor just to the left of the "Activity Days Tracked" Then select the DFR Line InsertTool. This will add 10 lines at a time to the bottom of the DFR.
How do I get rid of the extra lines at the bottom of my DFR?
At the bottom of the DFR place your cursor just to the left of the "Activity Days Tracked" Then select the DFR Line Delete Tool. This will delete 10 lines at a time.
Why am I getting a password message?
You have clicked in an area that is secure and will not allow changes. You must use the correct tool on the tool bar to make changes on the schedule.
Why is my schedule off by a few days?
Make sure your holidays reflect the current year.
My project is showing a variance of 200 or more days. What is wrong?
Your actual dates default to the current year when no specific year is entered. When entering an actual date which is for the previous year, you must specify its year, otherwise it will default to the current year, or use the DFR Date Tools. To correct this condition, click Tools, Options and Settings,choose Adjust Actual Dates and click OK. This will subtract or add 1 year to any actual date that varies more than X months as specified by the slider.
I have updated the DFR but I do not see the changes on my reports. Why not?
The report was saved prior to changing the DFR. Run the desired report again.
TracTime is not printing all of the desired pages or is printing extra blank pages. What is wrong?
Use TracTime's Report Printer Tool to properly print the report.
Remote users are not seeing the new project I created. Why not?
Follow these simple steps to ensure that field users receive new projects. 1. In OnsiteBuilder verify that the field user has been added to the Project Information page. 2. Verify that the users name is spelled correctly in both OnsiteBuilder and DataBuilder. 3. Verify the users title matches in both OnsiteBuilder and DataBuilder. 4. In DataBuilder click Establish Synchronization. 5. Select the project and click open.
In OnsiteBuilder I do not see the latest updates from the field users. Why not?
DataBuilder has not run. DataBuilder is set to run at scheduled intervals. If it has not run since the field users last sync you will not see the changes. To manually run DataBuilder open the program from the icon and click Synchronize RemoteBuilder.
How do I highlight my Milestones on my DFR after I’ve made logic edits?
On the tool bar click the DFR Formatter icon.
Template Support
How do I find my templates?
In OnsiteBuilder click the Open Project button. From the files of type drop down menu select templates.
How do I create a new template?
Solution 1: In Office 2003 and below: 1. Open an existing template. 2. On the tool bar click insert and select worksheet.
Solution 2: In Office 2007: 1. Open an existing template. 2. Click the insert new worksheet tab.
How do I renumber and format a template?
Right click on the template. Select either renumber or format template from the context menu.
How do I lengthen or shorten my logic without adding or deleting activities?
Use the Activity Toggle tool to changes activities from critical to concurrent or from concurrent to critical.
How do I add or delete activities from my logic?
To add activities use the DFR Line Insert tool to insert new line. To remove activities use the DFR Line Delete tool to remove the line.
How do I apply my template?
Right click on the template. From the context menu select Apply Template. In the open window select the project you wish to apply the template to and click open.
How do I create template from an existing project?
Open the project you want template from. Now open your template library, create a new tab and name it. Return to the open project, copy the desired information and paste into the new template.
Is it possible to revise the logic on multiple existing schedules without losing actual dates?
Yes. The activities on the revised template MUST be an exact match to the existing activities to maintain the actual dates.
